When everyone was on the boat, Fred was the only one who knew where their host was know where to be found 3. When Fred said "Can't land on Indian Island when there's a southeasterly. Sometimes 'tis cut off for a week or more." 4. Why the Owns were absent
Examples of Foreshadowing: 1. The Ten Little Indians Poem that was above the fireplace. 2. When Fred said "Can't land on Indian Island when there's a southeasterly. Sometimes 'tis cut off for a week or more." 3.How the boat leaves after they are dropped off, and doesn't return for a number of days. 4. How when Anthony went out to dinner to dine, the sentence end "And after-", and on the 10 Little Indian Poem it said, "10 little Indian boys went out to din; one chocked himself and then there were nine."
We choose these examples based on the definition of suspense because all of these examples are suspenseful because they leave questions like why and what will happen. We choose these examples based on the definition of foreshadowing because they ask questions who and why.
